Bubliczki

BUBLICZKI, a wind – string – plucked septet established in 2007 at the initiative of Mateusz Czarnowski. From its early days the ensemble has been roaming through Romanian dance clubs, Serbian weddings, Hungarian grasslands, Turkish suburbs and Gypsy camps.

The first serious success in the career of the collective was second prize at the 2008 “Mikołajki Folkowe” International Folk Music Festival (in English “St Nicholas Folk Day”). In 2009 the ensemble received a first prize and the “Burza Barw” (in English “Torrent of Bravos”) audience award at the 2009 “Nowa Tradycja” National Polish Radio Festival  (in English “New Tradition”). In January 2010 the Folkers label released the collective’s debut album “Opaa!”. In 2013 the ensemble released another record “Trubalkan” on the DobrzeWiesz Nagrania label. Over their entire history, Bubliczki have given hundreds of concerts at various venues both in Poland (Globaltica, Wisegrad Waves, Ethnoport, Dźwięki Północy) and abroad (Belgium, Germany, France, Israel, Holland, Austria, Lithuania, Switzerland, Norway). The musicians have also enjoyed artistic cooperations with such bands as Haydamaky (2012) and Solfrid Molland (2015). Their latest album “Turbofolk” was released in 2016.
